Riccardo Pisani, tenor

Riccardo Pisani, tenor, graduated with honor in Renaissance and Baroque Singing from the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome where he studied with Sara Mingardo. In 2000-2003 he was a puer cantor of the Cappella Musicale Pontificia “Sistina” and he began his vocal studies with Claudia Nizza. He participated in masterclasses and workshops with Victor Torres, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Furio Zanasi, Alfredo Bernardini, Alessandro Quarta and Alberto Turco. He won the special prize “Province of Rome” at the International Competition of Sacred Music 2012.Recently Riccardo has been selected from René Jacobs as Orfeo in Monteverdi’s Orfeo for the professional training music 2014 at the Royamount Foundation. In 2013 he has been selected as Apollo for the Académie Baroque Européenne d’Ambronay in Monteverdi’s Orfeo conducted by Leonardo Garcia Alarcon. The tour involved him to perform in theaters as the Bozar in Brussels, Opéra de Reims, the TAP of Poitiers, the Opéra de Vichy, etc.
In June 2013 Riccardo debuted in the role of the Sailor (Dido and Æneas by Purcell) for the summer season at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome – Terme di Caracalla, under the conduction of Jonathan Webb and the direction by Chiara Muti. He sang as soloist  the roles of Mercurio (Calisto) and Asdrubale (Scipione l’Affricano) Francesco Cavalli’s operas for the presentation of the critical edition by Barenreiter at the International Congress of Musicology 2012 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. In March 2013 he sang as a tenor soloist in Vesperae Solemnes de Confessore and the Missa in C minor K 427 of Mozart. He sang at the Wiener Konzerthaus the oratorios Dives Malus and Jonas of Carissimi (Concerto Romano) in 2013 and The Fifth Book of Madrigalsby Gesualdo (Arte Musica) in 2014. He sang and recorded unreleased music from Roman authors: Vespro romano della Beata Vergine by various composers, Responsoria of Felice Anerio, Missa Laetentur Caeli of Girolamo Bartei, Missa for three choirs of Ruggero Giovannelli. He performed at prestigious festivals including: Rheingau Musik Festival, Roma Festival Barocco, Resonanzen at Wiener Konzerthaus, Dvigrad Festival, Festival d’Ambronay, Sagra Musicale Umbra, Festival Grandezze e Meraviglie, Urbino Musica Antica, Antiqua, Barattelli at L’Aquila, Spazio e Musica at Teatro Olimpico, Frescobaldi International Festival of Music in Rome, Società del Quartetto of Vicenza, Festival Galuppi, La Verdi Barocca, etc.
He  collaborates as soloist with prestigious ensembles as Cappella Mediterranea, Concerto Romano, Arte Musica, Festina Lente, Choeur de Chambre de Namur, Il Canto di Orfeo, LALA HÖHÖ, Cantar Lontano.
He recorded for Ambronay Éditions, Bottega Discantica, Armonia Universal, Melos Antiqua and Dynamic and for the radios Vatican Radio, Deutschlandfunk and ORF.
